At Headfirst Honor Roll Camps, our goal is to provide student-athletes with the right coaches, right tools and right format to deliver results in your recruiting. Even with a proven track record of success, each year we talk to student-athletes, parents and college coaches to find out new ways to improve our camp and make it the best experience in the country for high-academic players.
As we get ready for another year of camp – where we expect to host over 80 of the nation’s top-academic colleges – we are excited to announce some new additions to Headfirst Honor Roll in 2020:
New this year at camp, there is built-in dedicated time on both days for coaches and players to engage directly during “meet-and-greet” sessions. During this time, players have the opportunity to introduce themselves and connect with the college coaches who are on their list.
On Day 1 of camp, the meet-and-greet is scheduled between the first and second game slot, giving players a great opportunity to find a couple of the schools at the top of their list, so that they can introduce themselves and give coaches the chance to put a face to a name.
On Day 2, the meet-and-greet falls between the second and third game slots of the day, so that all players have the chance to track down additional coaches before their game play ends. The timing of this makes sure that all players still have a game left, so the coaches they engage with have the chance to watch them play in their next game slot.
This year, every enrolled student-athlete will receive our new Headfirst Recruiting Curriculum to help you advance your recruiting process before, during and after camp. Through a series of webinars, videos and articles, this curriculum will provide guidance and insight on what to do to maximize your Honor Roll experience. Student-athletes will receive their Headfirst Recruiting Curriculum via email in the weeks leading up to camp. Topics include:
To deliver results in your recruiting, it’s critical that you not only have the opportunity with coaches watching, but also that you’re ready to be at your best when all eyes are on you.
Through our new partnership with Blast Motion (blastmotion.com), Honor Roll Camps will give even more advanced insight for coaches and players. Blast is a wearable sensor and platform that records pre-contact information about an athlete’s swing – allowing you to track important data points like maximum barrel speed, peak hand speed and time to contact. Blast also builds a model of your swing across three metrics: Plane, Connection and Rotation. Together, these metrics provide an in-depth look at a player’s swing, and how they can continue to improve their approach and attack at the plate.
For coaches, this data provides unparalleled insight for each student-athlete so that they can see the player they are now and the player they can become. Projectability and potential are critical parts of recruiting, and Blast Motion lets coaches see the picture with even more clarity.
We understand that costs can add up during the crucial summer recruiting season. To help families reserve their spot in front of 100+ high-academic schools, we have a new payment plan available that allows you to reserve your with only a 25% deposit. The remaining balance will be collected monthly in equal installments between the time of your enrollment and May 17.
We are also happy to set up more personalized payment plans for each family – if you have any questions about this option or would like to set up a plan, please give us a call at 202-715-6654.
